Crime Writing Events, Harrogate 2019

Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, Harrogate, 2019

I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be returning to the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate this year, as part of Mari Hannah’s Creative Thursday line up AND Orion Crime’s Friday Incident Room. The Harrogate weekend is always a high point in my bookish calendar, so I’m stoked to be on the team!

CREATIVE THURSDAY: JUST BLOODY WRITE
I’m thrilled to be teaming up with award-winning crime writer Kate Rhodes to run the JUST BLOODY WRITE workshop. As well as our character workshops, attendees will hear from four successful authors who previously took the plunge to attend Creative Thursday and subsequently found themselves on the path to publication. Hear from this year’s Programming Chair Mari Hannah (from alumna to chair!), Lesley Thomson, J.S. Monroe and Chris Ewan on their journeys to publication and beyond, as they reveal all to Natasha Cooper.

Thursday 18 July | 9am-5.30pm
Venue: The Old Swan, Harrogate

ORION CRIME INCIDENT ROOM
There are events all day on Friday, and I’m involved in a few. Firstly, I’ll be hosting Desert Island Crime, in which crime writers Mari Hannah, Emma Kavanagh, Tim MacGabhann, Chris McGeorge and Oscar du Muriel discuss their desert island books – the ones they couldn’t live without if they were stranded in the ocean.

Then there’s the Crime Girl Gang Podcast Live, where Niki Mackay, Elle Croft and Victoria Selman will discuss the famous Old Swan Agatha Christie disappearance on their live podcast with some special guests.

And let’s not forget the Orion Crime Proof Party – your chance to get your mitts on early copies of not-yet-released crime fiction, including my latest LAKE CHILD. An opportunity not to be missed!

Friday 19 July
Desert Island Crime: 2.00-2.5pm
Crime Girl Gang Podcast Live: 3.30-4.45pm
Orion Crime Proof Party: 5.00-6.00pm
